![]() A former member of the Ku Klux Klan, Coyle is also extremely bigoted and patriotic in his beliefs. He is very brutal in his chase and will not hesitate to throw insults and sexual comments at his victims. Leland Coyle acts much like an exceptionally cruel police officer. The Reagents successfully execute the Snitch and escape from Coyle through the shuttle. After the Reagents activate the generators and leave the garage, Coyle storms into the police station and attacks them once they push the Snitch to the electrocution machine. Forcing the Reagents to head to the garage in order to reactivate the generators, Leland begins hunting for them in the dark. Once the Reagents start pushing the Snitch, Leland cuts the power to prevent them from progressing. He then heads down to the underground parking garage after spotting the Reagents in the security room. After the Reagents arrive in the security room, Leland confronts an Ex-Pop and violently electrocutes them to death with his stun rod. He is first seen torturing the Snitch on the monitor. Leland makes his appearance in the " Police Station". While fatal to lone Reagents, Coyle's execution can be interrupted by another Reagent by pushing him off of the downed Reagent. In the event Coyle either downs a player, or stumbles on a downed player, he will try to kill them by violently electrocuting them with his stun rod. If Coyle and a Reagent run directly into one another, Coyle will grab the Reagent and electrocute them, dealing significantly more damage to the Reagent than if he were to hit them. He can easily be seen in the dark due to the electricity from his stun rod highlighting his position. During the Kill the Snitch trial, he will also abandon chase if he's close enough to hear the snitch being electrocuted. Once he finds a victim he will relentlessly chase them until he has lost visual contact, or he downs his quarry. It's unknown exactly how he joined PROJECT LATHE, as it seems unlikely he was taken from a prison or asylum like Mother Gooseberry.Ĭoyle will wander around looking for Reagents to attack. Despite this, or perhaps because of it, Perry highly recommended him for PROJECT LATHE. ![]() Perry was convinced Coyle was just playing with him like a cat plays with his food, and if Coyle had meant to kill him Perry would have died. The conversation turned violent, leaving Perry with two broken fingers, lots of bruising, and pissing blood. Coyle realized Perry was lying within minutes. While they chatted, Coyle drank heavily and ate nuts off the table. ![]() In February of 1956, Coyle met with Murkoff’s Clyde Perry at a bar on Route 177. Her family also died within a year, all apparent suicides via increasingly violent and convoluted methodologies. Despite her dying from multiple gunshots to the head, this was ruled as a suicide. This time, his wife only lasted six months. Some time after, Coyle was promoted to Sergeant and remarried. Officially she died of ‘natural causes’, her body was found on the South Side, on Kostner Ave. Her family died in an electric fire, and she fled to Chicago. He married a second time, and promptly extorted her family. He was in high standing in the Elks Club and the VFW. Some of his work included earning enormous profit from exploitation of prison labor, extortion, and civil forfeiture. He received multiple commendations for his work. Coyle was extremely successful and good at his job. Upon returning to Oklahoma, he resumed Klan activity which led to a job in law enforcement. He had three confirmed enemy kills, and two suspicious American deaths in his company. He served honorably for two years in the Pacific theater. To avoid an investigation, he joined the marines. She died six months later, officially by ‘falling down the stairs’. Coyle had criminal tendencies, but those ended quickly when he joined the local Ku Klux Klan chapter as a teen.Īt the age of nineteen he married for the first time. There’s anecdotal evidence of animal abuse and sexual assault as a child, which led him to him being enrolled in a military academy.
